THE LAW OF SPIRITUAL UPGRADE
“Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all”. Gal. 4:1
To upgrade is to grow up! It is to raise the bar! It means to touch up! Upgrade means to improve on ways and methods! It is rebelling justly against the status quo. It means to shape up; to advance, to be up- to –date, to jettison the decadent or moribund order, to renew, to dare to stand out, to develop, and to make outstanding progress. To upgrade is to exchange something for a better. Upgrade means upward slope! And this is every man’s calling! It is very imperative for genuine success in life!
Why?
The world process is in a flux. Nothing is the same, nothing is static, and nothing ever will be. That it worked yesterday is no guarantee it will so work today. What worked yesterday may just be impossible today. Yesterday’s discoveries may have become obsolete today and therefore unreliable and good only for the dungeon. How we did it yesterday is no longer acceptable today. There is a new method! There is a new approach! There is a new measure! You are either upgraded or you are relegated! The world waits for no one!
Beloved, there is a yawning need for all – round upgrade! It is required in areas viz. system upgrade, social upgrade, financial upgrade, intellectual and scientific upgrade, moral upgrade, and I tell you, in spiritual upgrade. You simply cannot matter in these times and age if you will not upgrade.
Many great works of yester years (literary & scientific) are no longer relevant today. Science still thrives because its discoveries are constantly being refuted and falsified. No fact is absolute! Objectivity is actually inter- subjectivity at best! Think on this!
Everything in this realm of life answers to the law of upgrade! It shall soon become a grief of heart to remain the same today as you were yesterday in this world of running to and fro in dire search for knowledge. Hear me! Ours is a knowledge economy! Our world is information driven! Only those who are current can be correct! Those who will not upgrade have been left behind. They have missed their role in the modernity race real bad! How sad! The world has moved on! You cannot catch a bird in flight at same spot when you blink an eye. Wake Up!
Where are you in this hot pursuit of meaning?
Are you still lost in the fantasy island?
Are you still being encouraged to sleep less?
Are you still on a comedy roller coaster?
Are you still wishing for things to improve ere you board the flight?
David excelled because of upgrade! 2nd Sam. 22:35. His hands were trained for war.
Jephta excelled because of upgrade! Judges 11:1. He was a mighty man of war.
Daniel excelled because of upgrade! Dan. 9: 2. He was a man of the books.
Paul excelled because of upgrade! 1st Cor. 15: 10. He laboured more abundantly than they all!
Your excellence in life is tied to your upgrade! Proverbs 4: 18 says the path of the just is as a shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day; but if the righteous will not upgrade, this scripture will never get fulfilled in him. God has set the mark; you have to be on the track and run to win the coveted prize. There is no other way than the one pre- ordained. A room for unlimited progress has been created; you need to train up to enter therein. It is all about breaking new grounds to becoming a trail- blazer, a kingdom mover and a path finder. True upgrade will ultimately expand your horizon and enhance your dignity making you the very envy of your world.
The only way to your full inheritance in God is to grow up. Otherwise, a prince may die a slave! He will never access the throne until he develops all the faculties necessary to handle the demands of the office! The deeper your roots in the earth, the stronger and healthier your stem. The health of the stem will determine the quality, the beauty, the attractiveness and the edibility of the fruits. Upgrade is fundamental to results in life. It is what qualifies you to rise to a new dimension!
How do you move up? Frustration and boredom result where one knows not how! There is always something to do!
What does it take?
- Attitude Change: Romans 12: 2. Develop a growth mindset. Be not conformed to the old order. Visualize greatness and pursue it. Never allow your past to rule you. Whatever can rule you can ruin you! See your glorious future through the mirror of the word! If your mind can conceive upgrade you can attain it! Begin to cultivate the attitude of self – improvement. Add something to your life daily. Consciously desire and pursue an upgrade.
- Study! Study!! Study!!! 2nd Tim. 2:15. Herein is the secret of true upgrade! Apostle Paul, the greatest of them all, was a man of voracious learning! He gave himself to so much learning and it paid off! 2nd Tim. 4:13 is an expression of the secret behind his spiritual height. Apostle Paul had the books, he also had the notes. This will work for anyone! Study will make you meditate and both will make you go deeper and stronger for the race. To upgrade is to be up-to-date!
- Discover your vision: Jer. 1:5, Gal. 1:15. There is a reason for your life! You are not here by accident but by design. Your whole duty is to discover it! Prophet Jeremiah and Apostle Paul discovered it, so can you! Passion grows with vision. Passion enhances pursuit! Vision helps you discover passion, moves you to develop passion and encourages you to discharge passion. This is the most authentic process of upgrade.
- Train up: Equip yourself with requisite skills that will enhance your impact. Sharpen your skills. Never be content with your present status. Training is the cure to mediocrity. Training is an investment that never fails to yield dividends. Learn the better ways. Those who train up are never caught in the traps of pain. They never suffer strains! Train up now!
