THE PLACE OF DIVINE WISDOM

THE PLACE OF DIVINE WISDOM…ISA.33: 6.

“And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure”.

A man’s wisdom is what paves the way to the throne. Divine wisdom is man’s greatest access to the throne. It takes wisdom to attain true meaning in life. Your muscle does not determine the measure of your greatness; it is wisdom that gives meaning to your destiny. The times are odd; wisdom is the stability and strength of the saints. Without wisdom, men will faint and destinies will crash.

Listen, any fool can get to the throne, only wisdom retains men there! Prov. 3: 19, 24: 3, 4: 6. Again, wisdom is our surest guarantee to a life of excellent success and true greatness. Think about Solomon! Rehoboam his son was a disaster because he rejected the path to his father’s wisdom. 1st Kings 4: 20-34, 1st Kings 12: 1-24. Wisdom will define the end from the beginning of any destiny. It summarizes the journey of life. Furthermore, it is wisdom that adds colour and beauty to destiny. There are kings and there are kings. Wisdom is what distinguishes between kings. Prov. 4: 7-9, 8: 15-16. Your value for wisdom is what defines your real worth in life. Also, wisdom leads in the way of righteousness. If you lack wisdom, you cannot judge righteous judgment. John 7: 24, Prov. 4: 11, 2: 26. Wisdom is what defines the limits of life!

Whatever your throne is, wherever your throne may be, however your throne may seem, it takes wisdom to occupy it. Therefore, you need to seek after wisdom diligently. You need to engage the pursuit of wisdom with the whole of your heart. Only those who truly seek it ever find it. Prov. 8:17.

What exactly is wisdom? Wisdom is a very complex subject. The meaning varies. But essentially, the encyclopedia says, wisdom is the ability to think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight. It is a habit or disposition to perform an action with the highest degree of adequacy under any given circumstance. This involves an understanding of people, objects, events, situations, and the willingness as well as the ability to apply perception, judgment and action in keeping with the understanding of what is the optimal course of action. Well, this is rather thorough and quite acceptable for intellectual exercise. However, since our focus here is divine wisdom, we need to see what the Holy Book says. This is because divine wisdom is the highest kind of wisdom. It is wisdom from above. It is the superior wisdom which comes only from God. It produces good fruits and never degenerates into bitter debates and ungodly strife or envy. It is only found on the pages of the Holy Scriptures.

Divine wisdom is the revelation of the secrets and mysteries that terminate earthly predicament for the ultimate exaltation of its possessor. Daniel 2: 23, 1st Cor. 2:7. Life is a goldmine of mysteries. Only the wise can unearth them. This God- kind of wisdom is the myth behind the meteoric rise of Daniel in Babylon. He was ten times better than the very best of the land. Certainly, wisdom is a difference maker! You must go for it.

Divine wisdom can also be defined as walking in total obedience to the instructions of scriptures. It is hearing and doing the words of God. It is possessing a right spiritual and mental attitude to God’s laws. Deut. 4:6, Matt. 7:23- 27.

Here you see, divine wisdom is not tact, not diplomacy, it is not craftiness. The wisdom from above is not the art of outwitting or outsmarting the scriptures. It is validated only by absolute obedience. It is in what you do with what God says. In other words, reading or hearing alone is not enough. The true proof of wisdom is the action you put on the ground. This is the face of divine wisdom! It is worth given all attention.

How to seek after wisdom…

  1. Ask God….Prov. 2: 6, James 1: 5. God is the owner and giver of wisdom. However, there are conditions to receiving God’s wisdom. One such condition is you must be God’s child. He does not give His wisdom to just anybody. You must be one of His to access divine wisdom. A dog does not receive the wisdom of a lion. A man can only operate in the wisdom of a man. So then, only a child of God can receive the wisdom of God. (2) You must walk in the fear of God. Psalm 111:10, Prov. 9:10. (3) Embrace the word of God. Col. 3: 16. (4) Avoid sin like you would a plague. Prov. 2: 7.
  2. Seek Instruction…Pro. 8:14, 9:9, 24:6, 11:14. There are people who know what is killing you. Seek their counsel. Borrow other people’s knowledge. This comes through reading anointed books and proven authors. Listen to tapes. Study the works of wise men and rub your little mind with their enlightened minds. Prov. 13: 20. Never be a scorner. Prov. 14: 6. Possess a lowly heart. Remember that meekness is an indispensable quality in the quest to divine wisdom. Prov. 11: 2. Submit wholeheartedly to instructions!

IT IS WELL…
