OPERATING ON PURPOSE…Prov. 19:21
“There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand”.
Everything living carries a divine purpose agenda. Nothing exists for no reason. Nothing evolves by error. All is created to carry out a specific, clear and distinct assignment. Otherwise, life will not be life. Man is a product of a carefully designed and programmed divine purpose. The discovery of that purpose is the whole; most compelling duty of man, and the most intriguing definition of success.
Life is usually a hard nut to crack for those who operate contrary to purpose. Check every sad, gloomy, complaining and murmuring person; he has not located purpose! Every excited, self-driven and rearing to go individual is a man running with purpose! Don’t misunderstand me; there are also as much excited dummies as there are intelligent derelicts who live on other people’s purpose. But, generally speaking, when men operate on their divine agenda, they glow. Life is only truly worth living if it is predicated on purpose.
Purpose predates existence! Purpose is the reason for existence! Without purpose, there is no being! Life purpose is without repentance. It is the mighty force behind the great mystery of predestination. Isai. 14: 27.The understanding of these facts should inform man’s disposition to life!
Purpose is the manifest expression of the sovereignty of divinity. To alter the course of purpose therefore is to contend with the master manufacturer. That is, the divine hand that molds all things to suit His own eternal will! Nothing was created that is not needed. If you have found purpose, where you are now, what you do now, where you are going now, the people you meet now are all components in the fulfillment of that purpose. This is very crucial! Let me illustrate with the Holy Bible.
Remember the King called Josiah? He was the reformer king of Judah. The word says about him: “And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that were there in the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned them upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words. Then he said, What title is that that I see? And the men of the city told him, It is the sepulchre of the man of God, which came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that thou hast done against the altar of Bethel. And he said, Let him alone; let no man move his bones. So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria”. He came to this while he was executing the mandate of his life purpose! Now understand that this prophecy king Josiah was fulfilling came above 350 years before he arrived on the earth. 1st Kings 13: 2. Little wonder God said through His servant Prophet Jeremiah “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations”. So is everyone who has come to the realm of life. For what he says to one, He says to all!
Beloved, you do not determine your purpose. God did and that before you were conceived in your mother’s womb. Nothing did; nothing does and nothing will! Everyone is a product of a concluded programme of heaven released to his time, age and generation to matter. It is before the foundation of this world. This is the truth of Holy Bible. Hear the Holy Spirit in Ephesians 1: 4, 5, “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will”. I believe this would blow your mind.
Every pursuit not based on divine purpose will crash in the long run! Such has no future, no matter the beauty of its beginning!
Hear this! You may be the chief executive of your nation and be running contrary to divine purpose. You may be an acclaimed minister of the gospel and miss the mark. Hard pill to swallow? But it is real!
There are very brilliant Police officers who were designed and wired to be fashion designers!
There are world famous artists whose configuration is teaching!
There are gospellers who have found their space in politics! Until they retrace their steps, they are running in vain. They are sure to end as vanity. This is the real meaning of colossal disaster as nothing could be more disastrous!
Purpose is the anti- thesis of waste and indiscipline!
Purpose will drive you!
Purpose will discipline you!
Purpose will organize you!
Purpose will coordinate you!
Purpose will order your steps!
Purpose will guide your choices!
Purpose will fuel your passion!
Purpose will refine you!
Purpose will not leave you until it pulls you into accomplishment!
Purpose is Life! And you must discover it!
The question is, how can I locate my purpose?
- You must know and embrace your source. John 15: 4- 5. You must recognize God as the true and only source of all life forms. Your relationship with God will in the long run determine whether you locate and fulfill purpose. Without Him, you can do nothing.
- You have need of desire and hunger. Purpose does not shower down from a tree like a ripe fruit. You labour to discover it! It is a work of sincere thirst and hunger. That will cost you some level of convenience. It demands separation to prayer and fasting until you locate it. Prov. 18: 1.
- You must avoid iniquity. Iniquity will stop you! Sinners cannot access divine purpose. Even when they do, they cannot be truly fulfilled. Such was the case with Samson and most Kings of Israel. So, watch it!
